It's not like other cities, Aceh will be so silent without fireworks on Friday night as the authority not allowed citizen to celebrate New Year Eve. Most of Aceh people are Muslims, while celebrating New Year Eve is not the tradition of Islam. Therefore, authority warn all Muslims in Aceh to keep their identity and not to follow other religious' traditions.
Aceh is a special region of Indonesia wherein Shariah Law is applied. Based on shariah law, Muslims are forbidden to follow other religious traditions.
